Specs & Pricing
Squier Bullet Telecaster features a lightweight poplar body and a comfortable neck with a laurel fingerboard. The guitar also has a string-through-body hardtail bridge which enhances the tuning stability.
What’s important, the guitar has a classic Telecaster pickup setting – two single-coil pickups which are characteristic to any Tele. Both of these pickups offer a very crisp and rich tone. Of course, they also offer the legendary ‘Telecaster Twang‘.
When it comes to pricing, it’s really cheap. In fact, it’s one of the cheapest Telecasters on the market right now. Surely, the competitive price makes this model a really interesting option which is appealing to a lot of guitar players.

It is also worth mentioning that in comparison with other Squier or Fender models, this is the cheapest one. As a result, it’s a perfect guitar for anyone who’s on a really tight budget. If you don’t want to spend hundreds or thousands of dollars on a new guitar, you’ll definitely appreciate the Squier Bullet Telecaster!
My Thoughts on Squier Bullet Telecaster
In my opinion, Squier Bullet Telecaster is an ideal choice for all beginner guitarists. If you’re just starting out and you don’t know what guitar to buy, this guitar will be perfect for you. It sounds great, it looks great and it’s not that expensive. Who needs anything else?
In addition, it’s a very versatile guitar. In general, the Telecasters can be used in a really wide range of genres. So whether you’re into blues, rock, country or indie, you’ll definitely be able to play your favorite riffs on that axe.
Undoubtedly, Squier knows how to manufacture good and reliable guitars. Of course, it’s not the best instrument in the world, but it will be more than enough for an amateur musician. I have no hesitation in recommending this guitar to anyone who’s thinking about getting a cheap Telecaster.
Here’s an another sound demo.
Disadvantages of Squier Bullet Telecaster
As I mentioned earlier, the Bullet Telecaster is a great guitar, but it’s not perfect. It has it’s own disadvantages as well. In the end – it’s the cheapest Telecaster offered by Squier.
Firstly, the pickups used for this model are really basic. If you’re an amateur, it probably won’t make a massive difference for you. But if you’ve been playing for a while or if you had some more expensive guitars in your hands already, you’ll notice that the pickups aren’t the best.
In addition, the tuners are really basic as well. Although this model doesn’t really have problems with staying in tune, it is easy to notice that Squier used some of the cheapest materials to manufacture this guitar. Still, it’s totally normal at this price level and if you’re an amateur, it won’t make a difference for you.
Lastly, the vast majority of Squier guitars tends to sound better after changing the strings. I guess that the manufacturer uses the cheapest strings that they possibly can, so their quality isn’t that good. But once you manage to put some new strings on it, you’ll notice a massive difference!
Squier Bullet Telecaster vs Squier Affinity Telecaster
Many guitarists wonder whether they should choose the Squier Bullet Telecaster or slightly more expensive Squier Affinity Telecaster. To be honest, both of these guitars are very similar, but the Affinity one features a bit better quality.
Personally, I think that Squier Bullet Telecaster will be perfect for absolute beginners who never held guitars in their hands. It’s a safe and cheap option, so even if you decide that becoming a guitarist is not your dream, you won’t regret buying it.
On the other hand, slightly more expensive Affinity Tele will be better for musicians who are looking for something nicer – not necessarily from the lowest shelf. I used a few Affinity guitars throughout my musical journey and I even played gigs with them, so I guarantee that these models feature a great quality.
What’s important, the Affinity guitars seem to have a bit better sounding pickups. But to be honest, absolute beginners won’t notice that difference.
Summing up, if you’re just starting out, the Squier Bullet Telecaster will be more than enough for you. If that’s the case, you don’t have to search for any other guitar. You will be totally satisfied with that Tele!
Here’s the direct comparison of these two guitars.
Are There Any Alternatives?
If you don’t like the Squier Bullet Telecaster, that’s totally fine! There’s a lot of different alternatives out there. But in the end, it all depends on what you’re looking for and what kind of music you want to play.
If you’re okay with spending a bit more on a guitar and you want to find a great guitar suitable for live gigs and studio recordings, you should definitely check out the Squier Classic Vibe Telecaster. There’s a lot of different versions of that Tele, so you’ll definitely be able to find the model designed for your favorite style of music.
On the other hand, if you don’t want to spend too much on a guitar, you should also check out the Squier Bullet Mustang. This guitar features pretty much the same quality as the Bullet Telecaster, but it has a shorter scale (24.5″). As a result, it’s a bit more comfortable for players who have shorter fingers.
As you can see, there’s a lot of great alternative guitars out there. I’m sure that if you stick to the Squier guitars, you won’t be disappointed with their overall quality!
Where is Squier Bullet Telecaster made?
Squier Bullet Telecaster is currently manufactured in China.
Why are Squiers so cheap?
Squier guitars are cheap versions of extremely popular Fender guitars. They’re manufactured in China and Indonesia, so the cost of their production is low. As a result, Squier guitars are really cheap. On the other hand, the quality of these guitars isn’t as good as in Fenders made in Mexico, Japan and United States.
Are Bullet Squier guitars smaller?
Guitars from Squier Bullet Series feature a slightly narrower body, so they may seem smaller than other guitars manufactured by this brand.
As you can see, Squier Bullet Telecaster is a really interesting and cheap guitar. Let’s be honest – it’s not a perfect instrument, but considering how inexpensive it is, it’s definitely worth it. I have no hesitation in recommending this model for any beginner guitarist who’s looking for a reliable and great sounding guitar.
