fender sonoran mini review

Fender Sonoran Mini is a budget acoustic guitar that exceeds all the expectations. Despite of the fact that this is a cheap guitar, it offers a surprisingly good quality.

This particular model features a spruce top with mahogany back and sides. There’s also a comfortable C-shaped Nato neck and a walnut fingerboard, which makes playing easy and enjoyable.

It is also worth mentioning that this is a 3/4-sized acoustic guitar. It’s significantly smaller than any regular acoustic guitar, but it’s not a toy. The Sonoran Mini is really well made and it certainly looks and feels like a much more expensive guitar.

The sound of that model can be described as resonant, balanced and bright. It can be efficiently used for a lot of different genres of music, so whether you’re into country, folk or blues, you won’t be disappointed. What’s important, it’s great for both strumming and fingerpicking.

When it comes to pricing, it’s one of the cheapest acoustic guitars manufactured by Fender. It will be really tough to find something better and more affordable than the Sonoran Mini. As I said before, it exceeds all the expectations! That’s why I highly encourage you to check it out.

Here’s a really good review of that model.

Who Is It For?

Fender Sonoran Mini is an excellent instrument for both amateur and more intermediate guitarists. Due to its size, it is also often used as a travel guitar.

This particular model features a smaller size than regular acoustic guitars, so it’s a perfect fit for young musicians who are just starting out. It doesn’t take much space, so it’s a great addition to any bedroom – it’s perfect for noodling on the couch.

It is also worth mentioning that this is actually one of the most affordable Fender guitars available on the market, so it’s a good option for guitar players who don’t want to spend too much money on a new piece of gear. Surely, this model is within reach of any guitarist.

Overall, Fender Sonoran Mini offers a fantastic value for the money. Considering the fact that this is a budget guitar, it’s definitely worth every cent. That’s why I highly recommend checking it out!

Disadvantages Of Fender Sonoran Mini

Although Fender Sonoran Mini is generally a really good acoustic guitar, it has its own disadvantages as well. Here’s what you need to know before you decide to get it. Don’t worry though – there’s not much to complain about!

Firstly, a 3/4-sized guitar will never be as loud and resonant as a regular sized guitar. This is pretty obvious, but you have to figure out if you’re okay with that. If not, perhaps choosing a different acoustic guitar will be a better choice.

Alternatively, this is not an acoustic-electric guitar, so it’s not ideal for live performances. Again, if you’re a beginner, you don’t even need to have a preamp in your guitar. But on the other hand, if you like to perform in front of an audience, this may be a serious issue for you.

Additionally, the included gig bag is pretty basic, so it won’t protect that guitar well enough. It’s fine for rehearsals or commuting, but if you’re planning bigger trips (such as hiking in the mountains), it may not be the best fit for you.

Overall, the advantages of Fender Sonoran Mini outweigh the disadvantages of that model. These issues aren’t that relevant. If you’re searching for a good, cheap and reliable 3/4-sized acoustic guitar, this is one of the best guitars that you can potentially choose for yourself.

Are There Any Alternatives?

If you don’t like the sound of Fender Sonoran Mini or you’re sure that this is not a guitar for you, that’s totally fine! There’s still a few other really good acoustic guitars out there that also deserve a lot of recognition. Of course, it all depends on how much are you willing to spend and what exactly you’re searching for.

Just like the Sonoran Mini, it features a smaller size and it sounds absolutely amazing. It’s a perfect choice for anyone who loves folk music – it has a really special vintage vibe.

Alternatively, you can also check out the Fender FA-15. This is an another affordable acoustic guitar made by Fender. It’s designed mainly for beginners, but I’m sure that even more advanced players will be satisfied with its quality. It’s a perfect instrument for noodling and practicing at home.

If you’re looking for a regular sized guitar, you can also check out the Epiphone DR-100. Why is good? Well, it was actually my first acoustic guitar that I bought back in 2008! I have to admit that it offers a really good quality and it’s available at a pretty affordable price. If you’re just starting out, this is the model for you.
