fender fa-15 review

Fender FA-15 is a budget-friendly 3/4 scale acoustic guitar. It’s designed mostly for beginners and it is often used as an entry-level guitar for kids, teenagers and adult players with small hands and small fingers.

The guitar features a laminate agathis top with sapele back and sides. Although it’s not made of solid wood, it manages to produce a really nice and balanced tone. There’s also a Nato C-shaped neck with rosewood fingerboard, which feels really smooth.

What’s interesting, the guitar usually comes with a gig bag. This is a really big advantage, because in most cases guitars are sold without any soft cases.

When it comes to pricing, it’s one of the most affordable 3/4-sized guitars manufactured by Fender. The relatively low price is definitely one of the main factors that contributes to the high popularity of that model.

Overall, Fender FA-15 is a fantastic smaller-sized guitar. I think that a lot of guitarists will agree with me that this model exceeds a lot of expectations. Especially at this price level! That’s why I highly encourage you to check it out.

Who Is It For?

Fender FA-15 is an ideal instrument for any kid or teenager who wants to become a guitar player. Additionally, it can be efficiently used by adults who have small hands and short fingers.

It’s a really versatile instrument, so whether you prefer strumming or playing with your fingers, you won’t be disappointed. Surely, it will sound great in such genres as folk, country, blues, pop and rock.

What’s important, this is one of the cheapest 3/4-sized acoustic guitars offered by Fender. Although it’s really affordable, it offers a surprisingly good quality. It certainly looks and feels like a much more expensive guitar.

Overall, Fender FA-15 is a fantastic, well made and great sounding acoustic guitar suitable for beginners. I have no hesitation in recommending this model to all kids and teenagers who want to start their musical journey.

Here’s an another sound demo.

Are There Any Disadvantages?

Honestly, there’s not much to complain about when it comes to Fender FA-15. Considering how inexpensive and good sounding it is, it’s really tough to find any major disadvantages of that guitar.

Of course, the FA-15 model will never sound as good as high-end guitars worth thousands of dollars, but that’s totally understandable. It does what it’s supposed to do – it works and it sounds surprisingly good.

In my opinion, Fender FA-15 exceeds all the expectations. It’s a really well made guitar, so you shouldn’t worry about any potential flaws of that guitar. That’s for sure!

If you don’t like the look or the sound of Fender FA-15, don’t worry! There’s still quite a lot of other really good guitars of this type out there. Of course, it all depends on what exactly you’re searching for and how much are you willing to spend.

Firstly, I encourage you to check out Gretsch Jim Dandy G9500. This is an excellent parlor-sized guitars suitable for both beginners and more advanced players. It’s affordable and it has a really unique vintage aesthetic, so if you like that kind of vibe, you’ll love it immediately!

Additionally, you can also check out the Squier Mini Stratocaster. This is not an acoustic guitar, but it’s definitely one of the best guitar for kids that you can possibly find on the market right now. It looks and feels like a real Strat, so I’m sure that your kid is going to love it!

Alternatively, you can also check out Epiphone DR-100. This is a regular sized acoustic guitar, so it’s a bit larger than Fender FA-15, but it’s an another proof that a good entry-level guitar doesn’t have to be overly expensive. I started my musical journey with that guitar back in 2008 and I can totally recommend it to all beginners out there!
