- not too expensive!
Ready? Let’s go!
Fender CD60-SCE
Firstly, this guitar sounds absolutely amazing. It features a solid mahogany top with laminated sides and back. As per usual, mahogany guitars sound really warm and resonant. As a result, this rich tone will be ideal for both intimate fingerstyle playing and a little bit more louder strumming. The neck of this instrument is super comfortable to play, so this guitar will also be perfect as a first instrument. If you want to start your musical journey, go for it! Intermediate players will also appreciate that incredibly comfy fret-hand feel. Nevertheless, I’m not surprised that the CD60-SCE is so good. In fact, Fender is my favorite guitar manufacturer. I own a few of their guitars and they are all awesome. Their quality never fails. I highly recommend choosing this guitar. You won’t be disappointed!
Takamine GX18CE
An absolutely amazing acoustic-electric guitar recommended for intermediate players. Takamine is one of the most popular manufacturers of guitars in the world. This Japanese brand creates remarkable, top-quality instruments. What’s more, their guitars are often used by Bruce Springsteen and Jon Bon Jovi. That’s a solid reputation, right? The GX18CE model features a solid spruce top with mahogany back and sides. Undoubtedly, this combination of wood results with a really warm and rich acoustic tone. What’s more, it’s equipped with TP4T preamp. As a result, this guitar will be particularly good in live environment. If you’re playing live gigs, this Takamine model will be a perfect match for you. In addition, it comes with a gig bag. This guitar definitely gets my approval!
Taylor BBT
Another amazing guitar. Although it’s a bit more expensive than previous reviewed models, it offers exceptional value. This Taylor guitar features a layered walnut body with sitka spruce top. It has a truly vibrant, acoustic tone in a tiny, affordable package. What’s important this guitar is a little bit smaller than normal-sized guitars. Hence, it will be an ideal instrument for musicians who are on the go. If you’re a busker or if you’re often playing live, Taylor BBT will be a great fit for you. Personally, I really enjoy the fact that this guitar has no cutaway. In terms of appearance, the vintage pickguard looks absolutely fantastic. Undoubtedly, this instrument sounds amazing while plugged in. Hence, I highly recommend it for frequently gigging guitarists.
Washburn WD7SCE
I like that guitar. I like it a lot! Washburn is an American manufacturer of guitars. Fun fact: they started making guitars in 1883! 138 years. Crazy, right? As you can imagine, this model is absolutely amazing. The guitar features a solid spruce top with mahogany back and sides. I feel like this is the most popular combination of wood. Especially in the best acoustic guitars. Surely, this guitar will be ideal for both beginner and intermediate guitarists. What I like about Washburn is that all of their guitars are always properly set up. I never heard about anyone having a problem with poor initial setup. Undoubtedly, this acoustic guitar gets my approval. Hence, it will be awesome for finger style playing!
Cordoba C3M
This guitar is not acoustic – it’s classical. Therefore, its strings are made of nylon instead of tin-steel. Undoubtedly, if you’re just starting your musical journey, this guitar will be ideal for you. Since the strings are nylon, they are much more softer than steel. Although this is not the best Cordoba model, the guitar offers a top quality. The manufacturer used a combination of cedar and mahogany wood. On top of that, the neck is made of nato wood. This mix results with a really clear and warm sound. Absolutely great choice for finger style guitarists. Indeed, it’s difficult to say if it’s the best guitar for fingerstyle. Nevertheless, I still highly recommend it!
Yamaha FG800
Another absolutely great guitar on my list. Yamaha, a Japanese brand with a wide range of musical products, always offers top quality. On top of that, this particular model is really cheap in comparison with other guitars on my list. The guitar features a mix of nato wood with spruce and mahogany. What’s more, while manufacturing this model, Yamaha’s R&D Department used a cutting-edge acoustic analysis technology. As a result, the 800 Series guitars have a really strong and loud sound on the low-end. This low bass feature can be really useful while playing fingerstyle songs. Undoubtedly, I highly recommend this instrument for both beginner and intermediate players. No doubt!
Taylor 214CE – The Best Guitar For Fingerstyle
Undoubtedly, this is the best guitar for fingerstyle on my list. Although it’s a bit pricy, it’s definitely worth it. In addition, it’s made of one of the best materials in the guitar world – layered Indian rosewood. That type of wood on the back and sides combined with a solid spruce top results with an extraordinary, warm and clear sound. On top of that, the Grand Auditorium shape makes this guitar really useful while playing live. Certainly, it’s a fantastic guitar created for the most demanding players. If you’re one of them, you should definitely consider checking it out. Evidently, I’m in love with this guitar. Hence, I want to share a short sound sample with you below.
Seagull 6 String
Again, this is a top-quality guitar. Although this brand may not be as popular as previous manufacturers, it still deserves a lot of attention. The guitar features a solid cedar top and cherry body and back. Indeed, it’s really unusual combination. On top of that, the guitar has a unique hand finished neck. Clearly, this guitar will be a perfect choice for intermediate finger style player. If you’re looking for something unique, this guitar will be ideal for you.
