JHS is one of the coolest pedal manufacturers out there – it’s really tough to find guitarists who are not satisfied with their superb quality. On top of that, they’re not too expensive either!
I recently had the pleasure to test out the famous JHS 3 Series Reverb Pedal and I have to say that I immediately fell in love with it.
That’s why I decided to create a short list of reasons why you should consider adding it to your own pedalboard too. Don’t worry, JHS didn’t pay me for writing this review – I’m genuinely impressed after using it for a couple of hours.
Reason 1 – It’s Cheap
Let’s be honest – low price is one of the most important factors when it comes to choosing new pedals. Thankfully, getting the 3 Series Reverb Pedal by JHS shouldn’t be a huge issue for anyone.
Although it’s not the cheapest reverb pedal in the world, it is significantly cheaper than other great effects of this type such as Fender Marine Layer Reverb, Strymon Big Sky or TC Electronic Hall Of Fame 2.
Hence, if your budget is limited and you don’t want to spend too much on a new reverb pedal, here’s my advice – grab it ASAP!
Reason 2 – It Sounds Awesome
We all love pedals that sound good. There’s no doubt about that! And the truth is that the great tone of that reverb pedal is an another factor that makes it so popular all around the world.
This is probably the main reasons that will push you to seriously consider adding it to your pedalboard. And trust me – it’s even better in real life.
For those who want to hear how it sounds, here’s a fantastic demo.
Reason 3 – It’s Easy To Use
There’s something really cool about the simplicity of pedals manufactured by JHS (especially from the 3 Series!). They’re just nice to look at, don’t you think?
That kind of minimalism is an another huge advantage of that effect, because it makes it very easy to use.
Out of my experience, some pedals are really overrated, because they like to complicate things. Of course, it’s nice if the pedal is versatile, but most of the time, less is more. I’m sure that all gigging musicians will agree with me on that one!
Reason 4 – It’s Perfect For Any Genre
If you’re reading this article, you probably have your own favorite genre of music. Perhaps it’s classic rock, maybe it’s indie or who knows, maybe it’s neo-soul!
It doesn’t really matter what kind of music you like to play, because the JHS 3 Series Reverb fits to pretty much anything out there.
In my opinion, it’s a highly versatile effect that can be efficiently used in various different music styles. And that’s what makes it so cool!
My Experience With JHS Pedals
I have to admit that I’m a huge fan of pedals made by this brand. Their gear has everything you need – their pedals aren’t that expensive, they sound great and they are beginner-friendly.
Additionally, I used their effects on several occasions during jam sessions, band rehearsals and live shows with my band, so I can totally confirm that their gear works really well during gigs too.
What I also like about their gear is that it’s really durable. Unlike cheap plastic pedals made by Mooer, JOYO or Behringer, pedals made by JHS usually feature metal covers. As you can imagine, that significantly improves their overall durability!
Seriously, JHS should be paying me for writing this review. It probably looks suspicious, because I’m only mentioning the good things about their pedals. But the truth is that I literally can’t think of reasons why you should NOT get it!
Who Is This Pedal For?
I’m pretty sure that both amateur and more advanced players will be really happy with using this reverb pedal. The thing is, it sounds good even if you’re playing simple chords or single notes. Hence, you don’t need to be experienced to actually appreciate it.
Whether you’re an amateur or a total guitar nerd who’s been doing this for ages – you’ll definitely love using this reverb pedal. Low price, high versatility and simple design makes it one of the coolest pedals of this type that are currently available on the market.
But if you’re still not sure whether you should get it or not, have a look at this quick list of pros and cons.
Pros
- Perfect for all music genres
- Extremely versatile
- It offers a bang for the buck
- Looks pretty cool too!
Cons
- It will push you to play guitar every single day, so it will significantly affect your social life 🙂
- You’ll fall in love with JHS, so you’ll probably spend A LOT of money on their other pedals
